A native of Saigon, Vietnam, Attorney Truong came to the United States as a political refugee. Attorney Truong attended Boston University as a Cardinal Medeiros Scholar graduating in 1998 magna cum laude with a dual degree in Political Science and Economics. In 2001 he earned his Juris Doctor from Northeastern University Law School.
Attorney Truong’s interest in the law began while he attended Cathedral High School in Boston’s South End. He was selected as one of only twenty students to participate in the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Youth Corps Scholar Program working in the Supreme Judicial Court Clerk’s office. Throughout college and law school Attorney Truong worked as a legal assistant in the General Counsel’s Office of the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department. As a legal assistant he assisted with case research, policy review, drafted pleadings and assisted with trial preparations. He participated in numerous cases including those involving workers’ compensation claims, employee benefits, negligence and contract claims, as well as cases involving claims of discrimination and civil rights violations.
